As Indy Gay Market continues to grow, we’re always looking for ways to strengthen the community that makes these events possible and that means creating more opportunities for our artists, makers, and supporters to get involved behind the scenes too.
To do this, we have begun revamping our volunteer program to support our community as a whole!
We know many of you already show up for this community in huge ways, and we wanted to create a program that recognizes and rewards that support in a meaningful way.
To help make this program more beneficial for all, we have created structured volunteer roles and shifts that might better fit your interests!

We know that volunteering doesn’t pay the bills. As trusted members of our community, the IGM team is happy to help make these opportunities more worthwhile. We can:
Provide letters of recommendation or character letters.
Complete paperwork for school community service requirements.
Have a job that reimburses community service hours? We can provide documentation for that too!
Volunteering with us also opens up opportunities to join the Indy Gay Market Team when openings arise if you are someone passionate about this community and looking for new ways to volunteer!
The Welcome Wagon
Be one of the first friendly faces vendors meet! Help artists and makers check in, find their booths, unload supplies, set up tents, and get everything they need to start the day smoothly.
The Set Up Crew
Help bring the market to life before the gates open! From setting up awnings and signage to helping vendors unload and organizing the welcome booth, this team keeps the magic moving behind the scenes.
Fairy Godhelpers
The heart of the market during event hours! Deliver water, snacks, and electrolytes to vendors, provide short booth relief breaks, snap photos, and help keep the vibes happy, safe, and supported all day long.
The Rescue Squad
Problem-solvers, runners, and community helpers all in one. This team jumps in wherever needed during the market by helping vendors, assisting attendees, supporting staff, and making sure no one faces event chaos alone.
The Clean Up Crew
Help us close out the day safely and smoothly! Assist vendors with teardown, help organize supplies, watch belongings during load-out, and make sure everyone gets out supported and stress-free
Our volunteers are the heartbeat of Indy Gay Market and play a critical role in making our LGBTQ+ affirming community events in Indianapolis thrive. From welcoming attendees to supporting artists and community partners, volunteers ensure our events run smoothly, safely, and joyfully.
