At Indy Gay Market, our mission is to continue providing economic opportunities for lGBTQIA2S+ community members in Indianapolis. With that in mind, currently vendor spots at our events are reserved for LGBTQIA2S+ community members only. If you identify with any identity in the queer community, this market is for YOU!
We love the allies in our community who help us make space for queer artists and want it to be known that this requirement is our way of taking equitable action to create a safe community for LGBTQIA2S+ artists in Indianapolis. With that in mind, all other allies or non-queer identifying persons are, respectfully, asked to abstain from applying to these events.
Each Indy Gay Market event requires our vendors to review and agree to follow a code of conduct to ensure our space remains safe, accessible, respectful, and kind. Additionally, we also list vendor expectations separately for transparency.
Interested in applying to an event? Please familiarize yourself with these expectations before applying! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Indy Gay Market is committed to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment for everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, race, ethnicity, age, ability, or any other characteristic that makes them unique. We believe in celebrating diversity and providing a platform for queer artists and artisans to showcase their talent and creativity. To maintain a safe and enjoyable space for all participants, we ask that you adhere to the following code of conduct:
Failure to adhere to this code of conduct may result in a participant’s removal from the event. We take safety very seriously so that we can continue to promote a safe and inclusive space for all our vendors, staff, and attendees.
If you have any questions or concerns about the code of conduct, or any concerns both old and new concerning conduct at our events we ask that you kindly reach out to us via email, Instagram DM, or in person at an event. We are here for you!
By attending the Indy Gay Market, you agree to abide by this code of conduct and help create a space where everyone can enjoy and celebrate the diversity of queer and trans artists.
Thank you for being a part of our community and helping us maintain a safe and inclusive environment.

Indy Gay Market celebrates and supports the work of LGBTQ+ artists, makers, and small business owners. All work sold at our markets must be created through human artistic process and labor. AI-generated art, designs, or creative elements are not permitted.
We exist to provide economic opportunities for queer creatives; your hands, your skills, your vision, and your time are what make this market meaningful. When we say we support “artists and makers,” we mean the humans behind the work.
What This Means: • Artwork, designs, and creative elements of products sold at Indy Gay Market should be created by you or through your own creative process • AI-generated imagery, designs, or art are not aligned with our mission and values • We trust our vendor community to honor this standard
Our Approach: This policy is built on community integrity and mutual respect. We believe in the authenticity of our vendors and the shared values that bring us together. By participating in Indy Gay Market, vendors affirm their commitment to selling human-created work.
Vendors who sell AI-generated work will not be invited to participate in future markets.
If our team has questions about the potential use of AI generated work, we withhold the right to reach out to ask about your creative process and ask for proof of creative process which can look different for each artist and their medium. We care about your work as much as you do and want to make sure your original work shines at our events!
Questions? We recognize that creative processes vary and technology evolves. If you have questions about how this policy applies to your specific work or process, please reach out, we’re here to have those conversations.
We ask that all vendors ensure the work they sell at Indy Gay Market is created by them or through their own creative process. This includes artwork, designs, and creative elements of products. We trust our vendor community to honor this standard and the values that bring us together.
We believe in the integrity of this community and in each of you as artists and makers. This isn’t about policing your work, it’s about ensuring Indy Gay Market remains true to its mission of supporting actual artists and their craft. This message is not meant to alarm our community, simply to inform you of our stance on this topic.
